Okay  so when i boot my system from ether hard drive  it doesnt boot  it drops me into a grub shell   but when i do "boot from first hard disk" in the varous LINUX distros  it boots fine
i did  grub-install /dev/sda
grub-install /dev/sdb
grub-install /dev/sdb1
sda is an NTFS drive but im creating a small fat32 filesystem for it

Why did you install grub on on multiple harddisks? On which drive is arch installed and what is in your grub.cfg?

my grub.cfg is on /dev/sdb1 
i wantented any disk booted to load into linux   but bolth of them only boot into grub rescue

Since he installed grub to both HDD's MBR.
@fennectech
Check if everything is mounted correctly in fstab. Maybe something is out of place.

okay so after creating a EXT4 partition grub happily boots now when started from sda1 this problem is now solved! it only involved moving 150 gigabytes 512 megs to the left xD
