KDE lockscreen frozen after resume from suspend

After an update a few weeks ago, the KDE lock screen remains unresponsive after resuming from suspend. The only way I figured out to get back into my system is to switch to console (ctrl+alt+f1) and restart KDM. What gives?
Currently running KDE 4.14.2
