All of the information you need is in the pacman.conf man page

What package would that be and why? Partial upgrades are unsupported.

Example:
/etc/pacman.conf
IgnorePkg=firefox
IgnorePkg=thunderbird
IgnorePkg=linux
IgnorePkg=wine
Be advised some packages can be ignored for a while.
Ignoring other packages will break your application or OS.
Partial upgrades are unsupported so you are on your own to fix it.

Thanks for the reply.
It is the virtualbox package that I want to prevent from upgrading.
I experience aborting all my virtual machines at startup.
Most probably it is known issue described here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1456395
All newewer releases of VB than 4.3.14-4 seem to be vulnerable.
I need to find a moment to check this out.
Again, great thanks for all your help.
