USB DAC and YouTube

I've been using a USB DAC and amplifier (Schiit Modi -> Magni) quite successfully with alsa, mpd and ncmpcpp. However when playing music through YouTube or any other online service, the audio is not pushed through the DAC (it goes through the laptop speakers). Searching the forums didn't yield anything especially relevant, and I'm not entirely sure where to start since the music isn't coming from mpd. Ideas welcome.

It seems that flashplugin is using a different ALSA device.
Did you make sure the default device is set correctly?
