screen corruption with Intel HD 4400

Edit: I posted a short video here : http://youtu.be/xDGfSvW8TP8

Hi,

I have a brand new laptop with a Core i3-4005U and Intel HD 4400 graphics.
I used the installation ISO that was released a few days ago, during the installation the screen was heavily flashing, and it's the same now while booting and using X.

During the first seconds in the boot process all is normal then the flickering starts with udev. I think it's related to KMS. If i enable KMS earlier in the boot process then the flashing starts earlier as well. And as I understand the Intel driver needs KMS so I can't disable it.

If I blacklist the i915 module then there is no flashing but it's obviously not a solution.

Any idea ? I don't quite know what to do about that...

What driver are you using? Have you tried with another kernel?

Not an Installation issue, moving to Multimedia...

Thanks, I'm using the xf86-video-intel driver and no, I haven't tried with another kernel.

Also I noticed that when I open the nano text editor in a virtual console (not within X) the flashing stops on that screen, and starts again when I quit nano.

I don't think it's a hardware problem as Windows 7 and 8 run perfectly fine on this laptop.
