Arch doesn't reboot/poweroff anymore

In the last few days of sporradic updates, I tried to reboot my laptop (Asus k53sc) and it just hangs with a blinking cursor after it finishes everything( hangs at Rebooting now.). Same applies with the power off and with any command that should bring the whole thing down.
I downloaded the latest image build from the website(2014.11) and tried to reboot/poweroff from it, and it's the same! It just doesn't finish the physical process of rebooting! It finishes all the processes and stuff, it says "Rebooting now" but it just hangs there.
I tried an older image (2014.09) from my HDD, and the reboot/poweroff process actually works on this. So it's certainly something in the new packages.
Also, maybe an important thing is that if I add the "pci=noacpi" in the kernel line in GRUB, the reboot/poweroff works, but my video card(nvidia dedicated card, optimus blabbery) doesn't get recognized anymore so it's not really a viable solution....
Any ideas? maybe what package should I downgrade to check if that's the culprit?
