after upgrade, gnome keyboard layout wrong!

I've checked and my UK keyboard works properly on the virtual terminals, but within gnome, I appear to have a US keyboard layout. I've changed to UK keyboard in the gnome keyboard preferences and removed US keyboard (didnt have to do this before, I dont think) but I still have things like " and @ mixed up and no pound sign.

Where do I look?

p.s. I think this is related to my xorg7 upgrade but its hard to say because I upgraded a lot of stuff, it had been a while since I ran pacman -Syu.

Have you tried editing the keyboard language in /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

when I read your reply I thought, how stupid of me. But I've just looked, and theres nothing in there to say what language to use. What do I need to add? :oops:

In the keyboard section, add:
Option "XkbLayout" "gb"
