Hey ARCHers,
i have an very big video archive on my server at my home, in different formats (avi, mpeg, dvd, mkv,... files) in various qualities from 700mb to 16GB. Because i want watch movies when i stay at friends, i'm looking for a good streaming server, that converts the movies in real-time into a stream, wich lower resolution/quality (transcoding), so the data transfer rate is not so big. Wich streaming software can do that?

I found now a perfect working solution: plex (available from AUR).Okay, i't closed source, but it fits my requierements.
I tried mediatomb before, but DLNA/uPNP is hard to setup over VPN.
