I happen to be using kernel 3.16, and not know how to compile my own kernel, so I need to install a version of ndiswrapper not available on the AUR right now. Unfortunately, make errors out every time I try building from the sourceforge version.
I am wondering if there's a way to install older versions via the AUR, or if there's anything I might need to compile ndiswrapper that isn't listed in the INSTALL file. Installing old versions via the AUR could also let me get the latest version of ndiswrapper by letting me install kernel 3.17.

Why don't you upgrade to linux 3.17?
Edit: Try to build older versions with http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git/log/ndiswrapper
http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git/ … 25a9988227 is for linux 3.16.

karol: thank you, and I can't update to 3.17 because my first attempt at compiling it took 2 hours and then failed right at the end.
Mr.elendig: my wifi adapter requires a windows-only driver. The company that made my wifi adapter has discontinued it and never made a linux driver. I'm currently able to use my phone to connect to wifi, but my phone is extremely slow and loves dropping connections.

Why can't you install the stock linux kernel? why do you have to compile it?
How were you compiling the kernel?

Actually, something frustrating on my end that was kind of stupid was fixed and I installed 3.17 without compiling it.
I was compiling it with cmake. I happen to have a really slow CPU.

I meant, were you using some AUR package, ABS or ...?
Is everything fixed now?
