[SOLVED] Left mouse button does not work anymore

Hi everbody

This drives me crazy: The left mouse button (a physical button) on the bottom of the touchpad of my Lenovo B50-30 does not work anymore. On Windows however, everything works as expected, so it's definitely not a hardware problem as I thought initially.

"xev" does not report any event when clicking the button, so I assume its a driver (synaptics) or kernel problem. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this issue?

One more hint: Connecting an external mouse -> left mouse button click on external mouse works.

Thanks for any hints!

Update: sounds like the problem described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1381815 Is there a way to get the fix in Archlinux?

Re: [SOLVED] Left mouse button does not work anymore

I have a similar problem, but with the right button on my touchpad. Thread here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=189577.
Thanks for pointing to the bug report.
Maybe try downgrading the kernel?

EDIT: Downgrading the kernel fixes the issue for me. Very definitely a kernel issue then.

Re: [SOLVED] Left mouse button does not work anymore

Latest kernel update (to version 3.17.3) solves the issue.
