Hello everyone,
i recently bought the new humblebundle (by the way if you don't know it and like gaming, its maybe worth a look
). However it contains the game Worms reloaded, wich is downloadable for linux distributions.
I downloaded it and installed it, but when I start it I only get a black screen. So the first thing i tried was clicking around, what caused one of the windows behind the game to shut down. Apparently the windows behind the game are still clickable. So I put the mouse in the top left corner (using gnome) and the gnome menu appeared. I tried to shutdown worms via the icon but that did not work either (as well as ALT+F4).
I also couldn't switch windows. So what I did next was to switch to the console via Ctrl+Alt+F2 and tried to kill it via the console.
ps -a gave me the pid and i used kill as well as sudo kill to kill it wich both did not thwrow an error but also did not kill the process.
A gdm.service restart though did the trick for whatever reason. Next thing was obviously to look the game up in the ArchLinux Wiki games troubleshooting section wich only told me to install the lib32-alsa-plugins. I did that resulting in the same error when starting the game.
So now I'm at some dead end and dont know how to continue troubleshooting.
Did someone experiance that error or could tell me how to investigate further?
I was about to make some more tests but maybe you could give me some more hints before i shoot down my system again, or someone even know the problem?
I'm on an up to date distribution i guess with the current kernel:
Linux archbox 3.17.2-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 30 20:49:39 CET 2014 x86_64 GNU/LinuxIf you coudl tell me wich journal messages could help I will try to find them or send some logs (I currently cant tell wich ones because I'm not so familiar with arch by now.
Thank you very much for your help
