Gnome Background white after coming auto of sleep mode

Hello,

I recently made the jump from KDE back to GNOME.
Now I have only one problem: once I start sleep mode, when waking up, my background image (desktop and lock screen) is white.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,
flameNugget

Re: Gnome Background white after coming auto of sleep mode

I have also been having this issue. The problem can temporarily be solved by changing the desktop and lockscreen background after sleep but it returns to the white background after sleeping again

Re: Gnome Background white after coming auto of sleep mode

I can also confirm this bug exists. It seems to affect people with Nvidia cards and the newest version of Gnome.

It has already been reported in the Arch bug tracker ( https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/42511 ) and also in the one from Debian (  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo … bug=765436 ).

Best would be to join those discussions, which will hopefully push the issue upsteam (ie. to the Gnome devs). Else I guess the best advise is to just wait until it is fixed and a new Gnome update comes out.

In the meanwhile 2 possible temporary "solutions":

1) Change the background image again to the one you wanted, will "solve" the issue until next sleep mode.
2)

Workaround is Alt+F2, r, Enter for Gnome Shell. After gnome shell restart wallpaper is ok, but it is quite annoying...
