Printing is not working anymore - Update deleted init.d/rc.d folders?

Hi there,
over the last week I didn't really update my packages. After I did this yesterday morning, my printing setup is not working anymore. Afaik the problem is, that cups will not start and after I realized this, I recognized that I don't have a init.d and rc.d folder. Sorry for the newbie-question, but is this normal? Could the update mechanism delete some important folders in /etc?

Note: For cups 2.0.0, the service name has been changed to org.cups.cupsd.service instead of cups.service. This package is available in testing from October 20, 2014 and in extra from October 31, 2014.

With CUPS installed, you can now start org.cups.cupsd.service and optionally, cups-browsed.service using systemd. Enable them as required.

# systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service
# systemctl start org.cups.cupsd.service 
# systemctl disable cups.service

I recognized that I don't have a init.d and rc.d folder.

Woah there.... these have been obsolete for years in a default Arch installation. You have heard of systemd right?
