Version of drivers in the kernel. Kernel Debugging.

Following on from a previous post, I downloaded the latest kernel source (https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel … .17.tar.xz)

Now I need someone familiar with the integration process for the linux kernel. Specifically, how kernel drivers get included?

Example: the rtl8723be drivers, in /kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8723be.

There is no file in the source to indicate the version or the git commit of the drivers that is included in the 3.17 mainline.

The repo for the drivers is at https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new/ , but for debugging purposes I need to find the git commit from that repo that was used in the 3.17 mainline version.

Thank you in advance.
