Are you the OP, or are we missing something?
FWIW: Using code tags makes the post more readable (and that is of benefit to those that seek to help you). Your response above it anti-helpful to anyone.
Now, if you want help on this, please post:
1) what you've already tried
2) appropriate logs (if any)
3) did this work before and just start after an upgrade? did it start after a network change? etc.?
Help someone help you.

I recently did an upgrade and I have a feeling it changed something somewhere with xrdp, just not sure what.
This was working fine until a few days ago, but now, why I try to connect I get the same thing as OP
connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port 3350
sesman connected ok
sending login info to session manager, please wait...
xrdp_mm_process_login_response:login successful for display
started connecting
connecting to 127.0.0.1 5910
error - problem connecting
then it prompts for password for user, and then:
connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port 3350
sesman connect ok
sending login info to session manager, please wait...
xrdp_mm_process_login_response:login failed
should I just uninstall it with pacman -R , delete config files and then re-install?
thanks

I am actually experiencing the same exact thing. Update from a couple days ago seems to have changed something. Uninstalling and re-installing does not fix it, so save yourself the time. I do know that TigerVNC updated a couple days ago, and since that is a dependency for XRDP I am suspecting that has something to do with it. I have not yet rolled back TigerVNC but I will try and get to it today and let you know results.

I also couldn't login anymore with xrdp into my Media server and did some experimenting.
I discovered the '-local' argument of Xvnc caused the refusal to login.
Removing that argument int /etc/xrdp/sesman.ini made it work again.

Thank you Marcus I will try this and let you know if it works for me too.

I looked at this again and I don't see a '-local' argument in /etc/xrdp/sesman.ini.
Am I missing something?

welp, looks like a recent update fixed it.
