Hi,
I have a movie in mkv format (h264 video) with a variable framerate of > 25 fps. My TV sets an upper limit of 25 fps or it throws an "incompatible file" error. I have tried fiddling with handbrake, but I don't really have a clue what I am doing and ended up with the audio out of sync with the video. Any pointers or links would be greatfully received.
Cheers in advance

I'm also having a similar problem but it's audio related. I get no audio on some MKV files because of the sucky decoding of the TV. I tried some tricks with ffmpeg but no luck.

You need to re-encode with constant FPS under the video tab, or get an on the fly trancoding dlna server.
@chsims1
Most TV's can only handle mp3 or aac audio in the first audio slot only. If you only copied the ac3 track, or ac3 and aac in the second slot it probably won't work without a real computer picking it up.

You switched the @ unintentionally right?

Long day, and making a post scrolls the opposite way of reading a post.

Yes thanks, re-encoded at constant frame rate works fine.
