I see.
I will see if I can make some room on my to-do list for this.

I just started a dwb fork where i gather all pull requests (except two, one is removed, the other seems to have bugs), and a few other patches. I also fixed some build warnings. Maybe we can bring up some community continuation of the project. I do not have experience with webkit, so if someone else wants to take over, i would be grateful. But if not, i guess i can maintain it for a while, until to big incompatibilities occur.

We'd need a PKGBUILD in the AUR. Webkit take it or leave it, might be better than Portix taking on the mozilla backend. The funding source for mozilla used to be google of all places, but apparently starting to deviate.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...

Done: dwb_collect-git (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/dwb_collect-git/)
*NOTE* If someone had made a checkout before 3 dec 2014 14:00, please do a new checkout. I removed a bunch of patches which caused trouble.

Hey 0mark, great effort! Thanks a lot for trying to continue dwb!

Thanks 0mark!

0mark: perhaps you should start a new thread for the fork so that any follow up comments/requests are relevant to the fork, not the original...

Ok, did that

The pkgver of dwb-git is computed in the PKGBUILD.
You can ask on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/dwb-git/ what has happened.

Installed this last night, and it works so well that I nuked Chrome and use this exclusively. My wife is gonna kill me if she tries to surf the web on my machine.

Shameless plug: As I was frustrated with the WebKitGTK crashes and dwb slowly started dying, I started working on an alternative based on PyQt5 and QtWebKit.
Now, after working on it for a year, I released qutebrowser v0.1.
See the thread over here for more information.
Many aspects of it are similiar to dwb, the keybindings are basically equal - I've used dwb before for months if not years.

Does it mean portix is planning to continue development ? (since there is no official statement of that). That would be absolutely awesome

Bookmarks; Is there anyway to sort them into categories? ie
type sh to only show your "shopping" websites or cod to show "coding" bookmarks
I think the zoom keys are strange.
+ will only take you to 100 max so if you have your setting to 120 (zoom-level=1.20) pressing + will reduce text size
I think pressing + repeatedly should keep on increasing text size
luckily Shift + will work

Is someone having problems with the cookies?
The cookiemanager is not really working (e.g. I can't delete cookies) and the whitelist is being ignored. I just may store all cookies persistent or non.

Seems to be a problem with webkit.

In addition to that, compiling the version directly from the git repository (not the AUR PKGBUILD) in debug mode, and running without any ~/.config/dwb directory, then opening a website (e.g. archlinux.org), I get this:

Even going back to dwb in repo doesn't work.
Here's the part about webkit:
(dwb:): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to 'WebKitDOMNode'
** (dwb:): CRITICAL **: WebKitDOMNode* webkit_dom_node_get_parent_node(WebKitDOMNode*): assertion 'WEBKIT_DOM_IS_NODE(self)' failed

Should be fixed in the git repo, i have removed the notificationelement when the statusbar is hidden, i don't have enough spare time to investigate further so i just removed it.

i had the same problem, but the git version works now.
i rather depend on dwb on my netbook, so thanks a lot.
