Error with (supposedly) missing i586-poky-linux-uclibc-g++ in Galileo

I'm trying to compile sketches for the Intel Galileo (1st Gen) in the Galileo IDE and I'm getting a strange error. The IDE throws the following error:

Cannot run program /home/joao/galileo/hardware/tools/sysroots/x86_64-pokysdk-linux/usr/bin/i586-poky-linux-uclibc/i586-poky-linux-uclibc-g++: No such file or directory

Which is strange because I've checked under the /galileo/ folder and I'm positive the executable exists. I've seen this issue associated with the blank space in the file path, but I don't have any, so I'm lost as to why I'm getting this error.
