Could you quickly run this few checks in a shell and post the output here?
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW
lsmod | grep fglrx
Cheers Sigi

Are you getting any error when you try modprobe fglrx ? Operation not permitted, perhaps?

williamhhf: have you installed the ati-fglrx-utils? I'm not sure if they are a dep. and if they are related to your prob, but try it anyway:
pacman -S ati-fglrx-utils
Good luck! Sigi

iphitus: he wrote in an earlier post that he upgraded ati-drivers to ati-fglrx, IMHO they should be installed. Anyway, he should reinstall all together again ;-)
williamhhf, midwinter: any progress?

I've already the same problem. I think the problem is some mistake in modprobe list-of-module, because I'm able to load the module via insmod.
A quick workaround is to modify /etc/rc.local and type in
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.15-ARCH/video/fglrx.ko
to autoload the module. I'm waiting for news

Guys have you tried to run
depmod -a
as root while using archck kernel ??
please refer to ArchCK in Extra. ATI Drivers renamed (again).

SICH, you need
Load "glx"
right before
Load "dri"
in your xorg.conf
Offline
Thank you for the immediate response.
That solved my problem. The strange thing is that it was working without glx with previous version of the drivers.

The problem was resolve after i update today.
