Hello folks,
suddenly acpi is spewing a lot of messages in /var/log/messages.log and sound is buggy. At random moments sounds just gets muted.

Found a message related to this on the fora here, dating back to 2010 or something related buttons on a laptop. Just a normal desktop here, latest official kernel, last updates...Nvidia driver 304.37
Tried downgrading the kernel, didn't help.
Putting a # before the last case statement in /etc/acpi/handler.sh got rid of the messages but sound is still choppy. It works for a minute or so and then it stops except for the subwoofer channel.
Reinstalling alsa/pulseaudio didn't help either.
I installed pavucontrol and when running it it seemed to switch several times a second between headphone and analog out.

Well a bit embarrassing...
after some tinkering to no avail, rebooted the system with a live cd and the problem was still there. So couldn't be Archlinux (of course not!) and checked the plugs. They were all in the right places and plugged in correctly...but what the heck, took them out and plugged them back in and the problem was gone! Bit of static electricity, a ghost in the machine? I'll never know.

Dec 08 15:04:57 hostname logger[31894]: ACPI group/action undefined: jack/headphone / HEADPHONE7:45 is when I unplugged my speakers with the screen locked. When I tried to listen to a video, there was no sound. At 8:41 I plugged headphones in and then unplugged them. Suddenly the sound worked fine. Maybe this is some ACPI/Jack/Pulseaudio bug? Anyone know more about this?
