I am experiencing a login loop as a regular user after attempting to pause the boot log by pressing ctrl-s (I read somwhere that that is the way to pause it). I can log in just fine as the root user. Any ideas?
I recently encrypted the regular user's home folder using ecryptfs-migrate-home -u myuser. After it printed a mile of messages about encrypting things to the console I got an error message saying there was an error with some files, but I was able to log in as that user and rebooted just fine.
The issue seems to only have been caused by my attempt to pause the boot process.

This was an issue with GDM not auto mounting the encrypted directory. Solved by following post #5 of this post.
