Sure but at least I can use my computer normally, while I am waiting for a fix of the driver. And also it is interestinf to know because disabling them via the cinnamon settings is not working and before that I did not know the existence of nvidia-settings.

OK, from this point of view - this is a workaround. I also mentioned it in one of these threads that disconnecting external screens allows you to run graphical environment normally.

The problem is that I don't have any external monitor connected. I have two phantoms, and the one of my laptop, but nothing else.

I did screw up at first though and accidentally installed nvidia-libgl instead of nvidia-340xx-libgl.
