[SOLVED] Adobe Flash, The plugin is vulnarable and should be updated

I turned on my laptop today and everywhere where I should see flash I see a warning message that the plugin is vularable and should be updated. Yes, if I click "activate", it turns on, but I need to do that each time and even on YouTube.

Is it the same for the rest of you or something strange's happening on my computer only?

I have all the latest updates installed.

What version of flashplugin do you have installed? Have a look at the Packages link and see if your mirror is up-to-date...

That is the most recent version of the Linux native flashplugin you can find without using Chromium/Google Chrome, because Adobe dropped Linux support for it. See one of many articles about it.

To actually contribute to the thread, when I am not using HTML5, I also get this behaviour. So I see it as normal.

My wife had this happen last night: I -Syu'ed, restarted Firefox and that was it... It has not reappeared.

@OP
I think restarting the browser may be needed.

I've never seen this message, so it's either a new thing or flashblock was hiding it.

I have restarted my laptop serveral times already and don't have Flashblock installed. sad

What's even more funny is that https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ says that Flash is up to date.

I found https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1035859 as well, but unfortunately I do not get the point that is being made there.

Re: [SOLVED] Adobe Flash, The plugin is vulnarable and should be updated

I had the same problem today. Updated from .424 to .425, restarted Firefox, but it kept saying it was out of date and the addons page still showed the old version for some reason (.424), while Adobe's version check showed the new version. (Mozilla's plugincheck kept showing the busy indicator.)

Removing and reinstalling flashplugin (restarting FF in between to confirm the plugin no longer showed up in the addons tab) solved it.

Removed and installed again - no changes.

You're right though - in Add-ons Firefox really shows the old version, not the one that's installed.

Dit it one more time and finally it worked! THANK YOU! smile
