This is the first time that happens, and after the reboot not before.

How can I solve this ?

Re: No sound Since kernel Update

Have both of you tried downgrading the kernel package to confirm it's the kernel package?

I don't have the old kernel in my cache so, I think I can't?

Re: No sound Since kernel Update

$ uname -r
3.17.4-1-ARCH

Still no sound, maybe linux firmware, I'm going to downgrade it.

Edit: Done no sound.... What can it be ? rollenwiese can you tell me what did you upgraded, to see common package.

Edit2: Wasn't Xorg ..

Downgrading Python and Sqlite makes no changes..

Re: No sound Since kernel Update

I originally was able to bring back sound by downgrading the kernel and firmware from the recent upgrades (3.17.6>3.17.4, firmware). Then went back to 3.17.6 and most recent firmware. Again no sound. Removing the saved ALSA state and rebooting corrected the issue.

While the sound was not working, all the devices appeared to be detected properly, and accessible as usual through alsamixer. The channels were all unmuted, etc. Just no sound.

I'm honestly not sure if any of the kernel & firmware were the true culprits, and wondering if it was some sort of other quirk. My issue may unrelated to what you're experiencing.
