Haswell GT1 iGPU hang fix patch

Hi,

For any Arch users affected by the Haswell GT1 iGPU hang bug detailed here https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83677 please see gpu_hang_fix.patch posted here http://pastebin.com/yRFwv86n

The patch, developed by Intel, works once applied to the current 3.17 Arch Linux Kernel from the ABS.

Not sure when Intel will push this patch to the upstream kernel but at least they have now identified and fixed the bug causing the gpu hanging.

Have not posted this sort of thing before so hope this is the right place for it.

Hope this helps someone out.

Re: Haswell GT1 iGPU hang fix patch

Might be better if you open a flyspray asking the kernel team to evaluate this patch for inclusion into the official Arch kernel... check to see if someone did before you actually open the bug report.

Re: Haswell GT1 iGPU hang fix patch

This is incorporated into the 3.18 code base as far as I can tell so it might not be acted upon depending on the 3.18-ARCH timing.  Although likely they will build 3.17.7 since it is in stable-review now.
