[SOLVED]Lemonboys panel does not show up with bspwm

I recently installed bspwm which is awesome. But I can't manage to get a panel working.

I have followed the step by step guide at
https://github.com/windelicato/dotfiles … or-dummies
for setting up such a panel.
I have my

$PATH

and

$PANEL_FIFO

set, I have the required fonts and the scripts are executable.

If i run

panel

it executes with no error message but no panel shows up.

Does anybody recognize this problem?

Quick edit: Turns out it's actually showing, but is all black. Seems like hex-colors specified in panel_colors are not understood by bar and all default to black

Solved and answering my own question....

I was missing something called a compositor manager, I installed compton and now the panel loads the colors.
