after a fresh install of arch and after creating a new user my home directory is empty, is this intended?
/home contains USERNAME, lost+found
/home/USERNAME is empty
normal?
all my drives are mounted correctly

I did it in arch-chroot

Yes, the command you have used creates an empty user home dir. If you had appended "-k /etc/skel" the contetnt of skel would have been copied to your home.

I believe copying /etc/skel is default. The files are simply hidden by default (dot files).
