error while updating packages

I got this when I installed gnome. Anyone had this before?

[root@menator ragencage35]# pacman -S gnome-desktop

Targets: orbit2-2.8.3-1 libbonobo-2.4.3-1 gconf-2.4.0.1-1 gnome-vfs-2.4.2-1
         libgnome-2.4.0-1 startup-notification-0.5-3 gnome-desktop-2.4.1.1-1

Do you want to install/upgrade these packages? [Y/n] y

Re: error while updating packages

You have an old version of pacman.  Upgrade it.
