Hello
I'm new to Archlinux that I just installed on a brand new OS-free laptop, however I've been used to more user-friendly distro before.
Everything is going well, except for this touchpad issue: the left click upon touching the pad works however the touchpad won't make the pointer move.
I can move the pointer with a classic random usb mouse, but I'll really need the touchpad later on.
It's not a hardware problem since the touchpad works fine when booting the laptop on the latest gparted live usb.
I've followed the steps I've found in Arch's documentation to set up everything but to no result.
The touchpad is detected as : FSPPS/2 Sentelic FingerSensingPad.
According to /var/log/Xorg.0.log, the touchpad is detected as a touchpad (Found absolute touchpad, configuring touchpad,...) and everything seems to be ok.
I don't think there's anything wrong in dmesg either.
I've tried installing synaptic packages but it didn't solve the issue. Actually, both Synclient and xinput utilities can't output anything but : "Can't connect to X server".
I've spent some hours thinking it was a driver issue with Sentelic hardware but it seems not to be.
I'd be grateful for any kind of help
(and I wish you a merry christmas).
Edit :
NVM, I'm dumb. To anyone having the same issues, just read the manual better :-) .
