Soundblaster Z, does it work?

I need to buy a new Soundcard, the Soundblaster Z looks good and not too expensive, but a google search reveals some issues with the drivers in Linux, though the majority of these posts are at least a few months old.

So... I gotta ask, does anyone use Soundblaster Z successfully with Arch Linux ?

So.. nobody knows?

For some reason it is not displayed in the alsa list: http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … ative_Labs

Which is weird, that list contains Soundcards that do not work, why would Soundblaster Z not even be present? I guess it's bad news.

Oh well, creative goes right into the blacklist, their response in their forums was basically "nomoney" yet they have the money for flashy marketing
