Booting stuck on "Loading Version 218"

I just did an install of Arch Linux for a dual boot on my computer. I have a legacy bios motherboard, so I had mbr partitions and legacy bios booting. I installed pretty much exactly conforming to the beginners guide, except I didn't wipe the disk or anything because I didn't want to get rid of windows, and I used btrfs instead of ext4. After installing GRUB and rebooting, I got to the GRUB screen successfully, and I can boot into Windows just fine, but when trying to boot into arch, it gets stuck on "Starting Version 218", and just hangs there. Any ideas what might not be working here? I've done an arch installation on a computer before sucessully, so I don't think I'm making too critical of a mistake. I haven't done much debugging, I really don't know what to do to debug this. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Well, the answer is quite easy:

GRUB legacy does not support GPT disks, Btrfs filesystem and UEFI firmwares.

Grub Legacy is no longer maintained and not officially supported, so i would switch to Grub2 in your case. You can still do this by chrooting into your system from a live usb/cd.

Ok, so I turned off the "quiet" parameter in the grub boot thing, and so now I have more information about what's not working properly. I'll start a new thread about it instead
