I have a few external USB harddisks with LVM partitions. After unmounting them and disconnecting the cables, the UUID entries persist in /dev/disks/by-uuid. This is problematic because one of my scripts scans that directory to determine if a given disk is present and currently generates false positives.
Is there a way to "refresh" the list of UUIDs to remove old entries? I was not able to find anything relevant via searching. Most questions related to missing entries.
