As the Subject line suggests, I cannot boot into the archck kernel. I installed the kernel from the community repo yesterday. Things I have done:
1. Followed the instructions on the "Initramfs and ArchCK" wiki document.
2. Removed any mention of fbsplash in my kernel line (so all it had was the kernel image and the root option).
3. I tried to recompile the kernel by removing the fbsplash option in menuconfig, but running make spit out in error regarding no Makefile in Init.
After trying to boot the kernel, boot invariably hangs, with messages from fbsplash about my monitor not being configured.
Thanks for all the help.

I have the same problem. intel 855gm graphics card
EDIT:
If I just enable the framebuffer like in the wiki, everything works fine. you might try that.

My laptop has an 855gm, and by following any instructions in my threads or the wiki, I cannot reproduce the problem, it works fine here.

I have similiar problem on HP nx6110 i915. It hangs.
One more question ipw2200 will work?
Offline
Guys, 'it hangs' or 'it has messages about this' are entirely useless to me. I need actual error messages.
Corvin: Yes ipw2200 works.

Install initscripts-gensplash from community.

I've got it installed already !
But I think that paths are wrong because I have to symlink fgconsole to /lib/splash/bin

Symlinking shouldn't be necessary.
$ pacman -Qo /lib/splash/bin/fgconsole
/lib/splash/bin/fgconsole is owned by miscsplashutils 0.1.3-6
Is miscsplashutils (and other gensplash related packages) up-to date?
