Ricoh Webcam R5U870 issues

I'm trying to get the webcam in my Sony Vaio VGN-SZ270P to show up in cheese and skype. It is a ricoh R5U870

As per the wiki, I installed the R5U87x driver in the AUR, and ran the loader, which found the webcam and reported the firmware was already up to date.

The uvcvideo module is already loaded.

Any ideas on why the camera doesn't show up to either program?
