ASRock H97M-ITX/ac linux support

I am considering this motherboard for a small PC I am building. Linux support is one of my main concerns, and I couldn't find much information about this board in particular. Though I know linux hardware support is mostly good these days, I am concerned about the wifi because the manual (ftp://66.226.78.21/manual/H97M-ITXac.pdf) says (page 10) says:

The WiFi + BT module is supported under Windows® 8.1 / 8.1 64-bit / 8 / 8 64-bit / 7 / 7 64-bit only.

I couldn't find anything suggesting what driver I would need to use under linux, though I think it might be alx? Should I be worried, or is everything going to be OK?

Thanks,

Re: ASRock H97M-ITX/ac linux support

In http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=117674 someone got that mobo working under debian.

However, i think the atheros AR 8171 that's mentioned in that thread is the LAN chipset, NOT the wifi chipset.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Thanks. Any way I can find out what wifi chipset this board uses? I couldn't find it anywhere in the manual.

Re: ASRock H97M-ITX/ac linux support

It's probably not specified in the manual because it's not integrated into the board - it's just an mPCIe module AFAICT - and could vary over time.

It may also be interchangable with other mPCIe wifi modules, but I have zero experience with this kind of thing so don't take my word for it.
