Dual Graphics: Sony VGN-SZ270P

I have a question on the setup for a crude "hybrid" Graphics system

What this laptop, a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ270P, has is a weird sony system where it has a hard switch used to select which GPU (Intel i945 or Nvidia 7400 go) is used. The switch only is "checked" at power-on, any changes require a reboot.

I installed both the noveau and intel xf86-video drivers, and did all the setup using the intel option. however, when I switch to the nvidia option, I never make it to a boot screen (display freezes, all I know is it gets far enough to activate the wLAN).

Do I need to redo my xorg.conf? What gives?

I'll post the xorg.conf here:

edit- xorg.conf.d is empty... that correct?

Re: Dual Graphics: Sony VGN-SZ270P

reinstalled using the nvidia graphics, still no good.

I switched to the nvidia-304xx driver, which made the nvidia graphics work but obviously caused a problem when I tried using the intel.

Adding bumblebee reversed it, making the intel work but once again the nvidia wouldn't work.

Seems like the issue is with noveau...
