Hi,
I'm trying to get the touchpad working on an Asus N750JK. By default it is shown as PS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse. I've tried installing psmouse-elantech and psmouse-alps-driver but with no success (at most I can get it to show it as Elantech PS/2 Mouse).
When running xinput list i get:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ PS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse id=13 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Sleep Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus WMI hotkeys id=11 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=12 [slave keyboard (3)]

Yes, there are a lot of Asus laptop with this problem, I haven't found any solution, bug reports seem to be methodically ignored.

The bug seems to be fixed in kernel kernel-3.16.3:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1110011
Can you try it?

With the Asus N550JK the bug is still present with kernel 3.17.2-1.

There is new work in Foaltech drivers.
Code for it is hosted in github: https://github.com/mgottschlag/linux/tree/focaltech3
More information about it you can found in Ubuntu Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1372609
I tried to compile modules for Focaltech for x200ma, but all patches are not working properly (in my builds). So maybe someone can be able to try it out?

ha!
I managed to prepare patchset of touchpad and bluetooth for Kernel3.17.6.
I have compiled kernel for x200ma (Linux-ck-atom) and everything is working great!
sbaragnaus if you wish you can download my compiled kernel and check on your PC.
here is the link:

Inside zip you can find kernel + headers and xorg configs for backlight + touchpad.
If you wish I can attach patches tomorrow.

Anyone managed to solve the problem for ASUS N550JK?

I don't know what hardware you have in your PC. If it is Focaltech you can use this patch (it is for Linux 3.18.1) :
http://pastebin.com/Nw1L5pXN
and in config add line:
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_FOCALTECH=y
Also for good recognization you can add to your xorg config this:
