Hello folks,
since somewhen quarter to half a year ago, the USB 3.0 ports on my notebook aren't working properly anymore.
Before, I could plug in any stick or external hard drive or whatever and it would be mounted through udisks2 without problems.
Now, I can do so only with my USB 2.0 ports. When I plug my storage stick into one of the USB 3.0, the lights flash for a seconds and then nothing happens.
Except, the stick is plugged in at boot: then it is detected and loaded through udisks2. Plus, I can detach and reattach it on the same port and, besides the fact, the system hangs for a couple of seconds after plugging in, it keeps being detected. But still, it won't be recognized when it is plugged into the other USB 3.0 port.
Any help?
Wolle

lsusb?
I put at button on it. Yes. I wish to press it, but I'm not sure what will happen if I do. (Gune | Titan A.E.)

Is the usb sstick detected by the kernel when plugged into the 3.0 port?
Anything in the logs?
I put at button on it. Yes. I wish to press it, but I'm not sure what will happen if I do. (Gune | Titan A.E.)

Nope, nothing. I just checked, if there are settings regarding hotplug in my BIOS, but there isn't.

Are the sticks recognised by other (live) distributions?
Could be a dry joint on the connector port.

Do other devices work with that port? e.g. mouse, keyboard

Try to downgrade your kernel i have to use version 3.16 to make my usb3 port detect my external harddrive.

Hi, I've got the same issue.
I've got a Dell Latitude E6430. I've got three ports.
The first one recognizes every external device.
The second one recognizes no external device.
The third one only recognizes my smartphone.
I thought it would've been a kernel version problem, but since some work and some don't, I'm not so sure.
Anyway, here are my traces for
