GLPlanet screen saver doesn't work in KDE

With other distros, I've always selected the GLPlanet screen saver for KDE.  With Arch, I have done the same, but instead of the GLPlanet screen saver, I get a blank screen for the screen saver.  I have installed the NVIDIA drivers and that works fine.  Any ideas?  I have also noticed that my KDE menu's are missing the arrows that point to sub menus.  I saw a post on this topic, but didn't catch the solution to that.

I'm using KDE 3.2, Kernel 2.4.x (latest 2.4 from pacman), latest NVIDIA driver.
