Becoming an ArchLinux Developer

Hi everybody.

I spent last two months understanding how ArchLinux works and
I'm really glad of what I understood. ArchLinux is (IMHO) a very
good Linux distribution with a good structure and with lot of good
and new ideas in it.

I'm currently a computer science student and I have a strong
theoretical knowledge of operating systems and programming.

I'd like to improve my experience in developing for Linux and
I imagine that contribute something for ArchLinux could be a good
starting point for me.

So.. I'm asking you guys...
How would I start contributing in ArchLinux?

Thank You

Re: Becoming an ArchLinux Developer

You could start by contributing pkgbuilds to the AUR (aur.archlinux.org) http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_User_Guidelines

Re: Becoming an ArchLinux Developer

yes, starting with packages for AUR always is a good idea. when people see that someone's PKGBUILD quality has a high average quality and you can keep up with versions and bugs, someone will definetly approach the maintainer when help is needed.

also user-contributions.org is a good place to host every kind of project that is arch related. maybe helping with one of the ports also is a nice idea? in any case, you should start out with experience, so give the AUR a go. smile

And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
