LVM Snapshots - Must I delete before creating anew

Hello,

I would like to take snapshots of one of my logical volumns frequently.

I have an existing snapshot for it already.

Do i have to delete the existing snapshot before i can recreate it?

The following command will merge the logical volumn LVNAME with its corresponding snapshot and then remove the snapshot.

lvconvert --merge /dev/VG/LVNAME

I cannot find an analogous command to do the opposite.
That is, merge the changes in LVNAME to its snapshot.

Seems nicer to me to do this then having to delete the snapshot and remake it.

As an aside,
Is the deleteing/remaking workflow more consistent with the way LVM works?
