Many applications such as epiphany and nautilus already have version 2.14 in ftp.gnome.org, maybe devs could begin building them now?

They have not released gnome 2.14 yet, I'm guessing their waiting for that, to release all at the same time.

now thats something worth having! I hope they will release gaim 2.0 with it. running gaim 2.0 beta right now, but they really need to fix the file transfer speed..

I hope it will fall into testing soon! cant wait anyway! really expecting some great speed inprovement of the new memory allocator, and not to mention the gnome-power-manager, should be great for my laptop!

Ubuntu has already got it... but debian, gentoo, and arch are still on the outs.

I wonder how they did it? These are the guys who don't even have apache in their repos!

But they have programmers that contribute to the gnome project, in a similar way as Red Hat does (and visible in fedora-devel).

I doubt however if gnome 2.14 will hit testig before the 17th (when kde 3.5.2 is released), as lots of things need to be recompiled agains dbus-0.61

I'm generally not a Gnome user but I do try each new release as it comes out and it just keeps getting better and better, so I'm looking forward to trying 2.14 as soon as it hits the Arch repo. Hopefully that won't be long.

2.14 RC is in there and the 2.14 final hasn't gotten much changes.

How do u expect to get 2.14 if u don't test 2.14rc in Testing, just give the developer a bi of help before they give u a working product

Now this is what I don't get. Why would you test 2.13 or even a pre release 2.14 just to get 2.14 out? When it is released they fix bugs that were found with the previous version.

Why test a version that is older and does not have the ALREADY KNOWN bug fixes in 2.14? Makes more sense to test 2.14 final with those bugs fixed than to go back in time and test the broken one?

Or .... is it that in order to get the PRIVILEDGE to try 2.14 we have to simply run through the motions and formalities of 2.13 first? This doesnt make sense.

Not many, but enough. You really should update your repo to the current version - we don't want to be reporting bugs that have been fixed, or missing ones that have cropped up in the final release.

So.. are you guys still waiting for testers on gnome 2.13.92 or are you working on the 2.14 release now?

I would prefer testing the 2.14 directly since it is already out..

any plans on when it will become an aur package or hit testing?
