Did a pacamn -Syu which pulled in some nvidia stuff and afterwards I rebooted. Now once the message "[ OK ] Reached target Graphical Interface" is displayed nothing.
I can do an <CTRL><ALT>F2 and login OK so the system is booting just that not into the KDE DE.
I'm using KDE4 and SDDM as the display manager. I have a GTX 580 GPU.
systemctl status sddm.service reports that it is active running but the log lines it shows afterwards state that the "Display server stopped"
If I disable sddm and enable kdm and then ask for status for the kdm service I get from the log lines that "X server dies during startup" and "X server for display :0 cannot be started, session disabled"
I've also tried uninstalling nvidia and reinstalling but to no avail.
ANy ideas, suggestions where to look.

Post your config files for sddm & kdm plz.
