This was working fine for the past few years. But after a recent update to my Arch system, audio now stops working after I power-cycle my amp/tv. I wish I knew what update caused it, possibly kernel? After I power on my amp/tv again the hdmi audio now shows as "unplugged" in pavucontrol as seen below:
Anyone know of a way to force it to recognize that it is plugged in again when I turn the TV back on?

I found that switching to a VT then back to X again will restore audio as "plugged in" and it will work again. Is pulseaudio somehow not checking audio again when the AV/TV is turned back on or is this Xorg somehow not enabling it?
Also, if audio is being used (ie. playing a youtube video) when the Amp/TV is turned off, then when it is turned on again audio is still working fine. So it appears this "unplugged" bug will only happen if audio is not being used while the TV is off (which will be the case most of the time).
