I just upgraded exim and had the following warnings. Should I manually fix the permissions, and if so, to what?
(14/60) upgrading exim
warning: directory ownership differs on /var/log/exim/
filesystem: 0:79 package: 0:0
warning: directory ownership differs on /var/spool/exim/
filesystem: 0:79 package: 0:0
warning: directory ownership differs on /var/spool/exim/db/
filesystem: 79:79 package: 0:0

I have the exactly same issue with the latest upgrade affecting Exim. Why is it complaining about /var/log/exim/ that only belongs to exim and not to filesystem package?

The package installs the files with root permissions and the chowns them in the install scirpt.

Ahh, I see. I had a look at the install script, which confirms what you say. So the advice is essentially to ignore the warning. Would this be considered a bug in the exim installation?

I just filled a bug report for the exim package, I think this should be fix, it should be easy though: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/43529?p … tring=exim
