Really, really nasty Bittorrent problems...

When I try to download something via Bittorrent, I can connect to a maximum of 2 seeds, no more, even if the torrent has over 100 seeds. Also, I seem limited to five peers total, and all peers invariably close their connections with me after five minutes. This happens on *all* torrents, and with *all* clients. And I have all the right ports open, but the clients still think I'm firewalled, even though a portscan confirms that the ports are indeed open... What is going on here?! :shock:

Maybe your ISP is restricting bittorrent use?

Re: Really, really nasty Bittorrent problems...

try azureus , it's a bittorent client that needs only one port, and this 1 port is in can be in a totally different range than the ususal bittorrent ports.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: Really, really nasty Bittorrent problems...

Azureus and uTorrent just released a protocol that encrypts some part of the headers or something. They claim that it keeps ISPs from throttling or blocking Bittorrent traffic.

Re: Really, really nasty Bittorrent problems...

Solved it... All BT traffic is now routed through a completely different port, one that isn't normally used.

Argh, this is weird... I can connect now, but in a lot of cases I'm noticing seeders that I've connected to who I still can't download from, despite being neither choked nor snubbed. I wonder if I'm seeing some new form of bandwidth leeching... :?

I donno if it's what i noticed last week, i was downloading some torrents from mi*****a and the torrents were very weird, the 3 episodes i was downloading reached 99.6% with more than 250 in Swarm but torrent is at 0kb/s, i use a different port (non-standard, UDP/TCP open) so it was kinda of the shock, so i closed Azureus and i restarted it, and Buff 2 seconds later the 3 files were done, so i'm not sure, but some say that the torrent file itself will make azureus Block downloading at some percent, so u seed ( source of what i said, some post on mi*****a forum )
