No sound in Browser

Hi All,

I know this topic has been discussed till death in other posts, and belive me I've read a lot of those. But for all my efforts I'm not able to make sound work on any browser(firefox/chromium). I've been able to make sound work for sound applications like mpg123/clementine etc.

I haven't installed flash and am running only youtube videos. I've tried playing around with asoundconf, alsamixer but nothing works. The aplay command shows the following devices.

[cheema@screwed ~]$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: MID [HDA Intel MID], device 0: 92HD87B1/3 Analog [92HD87B1/3 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: MID [HDA Intel MID], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I'm guessing the browsers are trying to access the HDMI device rather than the analog one. Is there a way to force the analog devices as default for browser?
