pulseaudio echo-cancellation module how to get best results with it ?

I have been trying to use the pulseaudio and activiating the echo-cancellation module but I seem to be getting very little difference as I still quite a bit of echo.
My main problem is that I am using a headset and the microphones seems to be picking quite well for some reason the headphones sound and activing the echo-cancellation seem to do liitle to help.
I wonder if there is some way to better to config it ? or maybe a better solution for echo cancellation ?

Did you actually switch to the echo-cancelled sink? afaik you need to move the app which should be using it to an echo-cancel sink in pavucontrol or similar

yes I have moved the app I was trying to record to use the echo-cancel-sink instead of default using pavucontrol but there wasn't much of a difference

Don't really know don't use it myself, have you tried playing around with the aec_methods available here
