Hdparm missing sense data psp go

fennectech@archroot ~]$ sudo hdparm -K1 /dev/sdg

/dev/sdg:
setting drive keep features to 1 (on)
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

this is the output of hdparm -K1 on my PSP go's ef0/ storage media im trying to use hdpram to prevent any form of caching on the storage so i can remove it without unmounting, the device has a fat32 filesystem and the problem spans my arch and manjaro machines. is there any more info i need to add here? did it actualy apply my settings and this is unrelated to the operation performed here?

[fennectech@archroot ~]$ sudo hdparm -W0 /dev/sdg

/dev/sdg:
setting drive write-caching to 0 (off)
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
 write-caching = not supported

I assumed write caching settings is stored in sense data.
or am i completely barking up the wrong tree and the write caching is done by the system itself?
could it also relate to mates inability to eject which i assume is just because its not a media based drive? it can eject all of my other flash drives.

[fennectech@archroot ~]$ sudo eject /dev/sdg -v
eject: device name is `/dev/sdg'
eject: /dev/sdg: not mounted
eject: /dev/sdg: is whole-disk device
eject: /dev/sdg: is removable device
eject: /dev/sdg1: mounted on /run/media/fennectech/disk
eject: /run/media/fennectech/disk: unmounting
eject: /dev/sdg: trying to eject using CD-ROM eject command
eject: CD-ROM eject command failed
eject: /dev/sdg: trying to eject using SCSI commands
eject: SCSI eject failed
eject: /dev/sdg: trying to eject using floppy eject command
eject: floppy eject command failed
eject: /dev/sdg: trying to eject using tape offline command
eject: tape offline command failed
eject: unable to eject

EDIT:

could this be related?
