1920x1080 resolution not working in virtualbox

Hello everyone,

first off my host system is windows 7 64 bit and my guest system is archlinux.
I installed virtualbox guest additions and added a virtualbox.conf in my /etc/modules-load.d with the following information:

vboxguest
vboxsf
vboxvideo

in my .xinitrc I have the following lines:

VBoxClient-all &
compton &
xrandr -s 1920x1080
exec awesome

my resolution seems to be lower then that and when I run xrandr -s 1920x1080 in the terminal it returns:
Size 1920x1080 not found in available modes

does anyone have an idea on how I can put it on the right display?

EDIT: I see now that I don't have a xorg.conf in my /etc/X11/ folder, could it be that I have to set the display mode there? If so where can I get a copy of xorg.conf

EDIT2: it seems that all I had to do was start my virtualbox in seamless mode in order to make it recognize the 1920x1080 display. Problem solved.
